Welcome to the website of Pro Walk/Pro Bike 2004. We gathered last September in Victoria BC to take advantage of the favorable exchange rate, to take in the scenery, meet old friends, and, oh yeah, hear a few great presentations about bicycling and walking.

The theme of the 2004 conference was Creating Active Communities. And as the news seems to bear out every day this is not a topic that is going away; quite the contrary. In keeping with the mission and tradition of Pro Walk/Pro Bike, the National Center for Bicycling & Walking is making available all material presented at the conference. We have organized the various presentations according to the eight conference themes to make it easier for you to find your favorite presentation. (The poster sessions will soon appear).

We look forward seeing everyone again for the 14th International Symposium on Walking and Bicycling to be held in Madison, Wisconsin, September 2006. John Williams, publisher extraordinaire and Pro Bike guru, is already hard at work thinking about next year's conference.
